I’m Back!

Yep, one of these posts. The I’m-back-and-never-leaving-again post (#dontmakepromisesyoucantkeep – funny video on the use of hashtags by the by). Well, I’d like to be back, and I truly do hope to be on a semi-regular basis, but I won’t promise that. My last post was November 6, 2012. Approaching a year ago now. Let me count for you the ways my life has changed since then.

I changed my business from a lukewarm just-testing-this-thing-out sole proprietorship to a full-fledged LLC effective January 1, 2013. Along with that came a highly talented team of designers, developers, copy writers, photographers, and sale reps. This took me out of pretending to know development to doing what I do best which is managing and building relationship which lead to sales. It has now been almost 10 months since making this transition and we have just brought on our first full-time employee, Mark Broomell, who handles business development and project management. This frees up more of my time to continue doing what I do best. Constantly learning, and constantly adapting. Business is going well 🙂 You can learn more about my company by visiting our site.

Harrisburg Cigar Club

I have the honor and pleasure of sitting on the board of the Harrisburg Cigar Club as our Communications Director. We have a club event once each month and many smaller events at local cigar shops. This keeps me busy but I love the club. The family gained here is amazing.

Mozzie Dean

This is the biggest change. While business is all-consuming at this point, it pales in comparison to Mozzie Dean, our first little boy. He was born on August 27, 2013. Weighed in at 7lbs 4.7oz and was 18 inches long. At his last doctor appointment he surpassed his birth-weight by 4oz and grew 2 inches. Both he and my wife are healthy, which is all I can really ask for.

Between these three items my days go by quickly, but I still find time to enjoy the finer things in coffee and cigars. Here’s to sticking around!

(What brought me back? My business uses the self-hosted version of WordPress for all of our clients, so I keep up with both WordPress.org updates as-well-as WordPress.com updates. I read about the cloudup.com acquisition and planned integration and thought that it would be a good idea for me to be more involved in a WP.com site. WP.com is typically a foreshadow of what is to come on the WP.org side.)
